This is also one of only two 19th century hexagonal structures still around in the United States. The Milton House is the only documented Underground Railroad site in Wisconsin that can be toured. 220 South Janesville Street: Haven-Crandall House This house was built in 1872 by H.M. Haven then purchased by the Crandall family in 1903. Alberta Crandall was a professor at Milton College for 45 years and lived there after her parents passed away. In 2007 John and Gail Nordlof purchased the house and made Northleaf Winery’s Bistro. In 2016 it was named to the National Register of Historic Places. #16000575. (Tour Guide pg 11)
232 South Janesville Street: John Alexander/ Sunnyview Orchard Warehouse In 1850 John Alexander, a Scottish settler, built this building. This was built as a wheat warehouse using Goodrich’s grout mixture. Here farmers would traded wheat for dry goods. In 1978 this house became a National Register of Historic Places. In 2007 John and Gail Nordlof completed a major restoration of the original building. After the restoration it became Northleaf Winery, a working winery and tasting room. (Tour Guide 11)
302-304 South Janesville Street: John Alexander House John Alexander a farmer and merchant built this house in 1860. This was one of the 1st wood frame homes in Milton. In the 1970’s it was converted to a two family dwelling. (Tour Guide pg 12)
974 East High Street: AT&T Test Station-Harker House Built in 1911 by At&T Company to be a test station and lineman’s residence. The walls are concrete and 12 inches thick and the floors are 10 inches thick. ( Tour Book pg 12)
910 East High Street: St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church The church was build in 1970 in contemporary style. If the church does not change the building it can be eligible for National Register of Historic Places in 2020. (Tour Guide pg 12)

741 East High Street: 1st Congregational Church This church was built in 1892 by M.H. Ansley who built 25 houses in Milton Junction. (Tour Guide pg 13)

423 Parkview Drive Stone Arch Filling Station This building is Tudor Revival influenced was constructed in 1926 by Norris Rowbotham. The stone arch originally was behind the building for entrance to mini golf course. (Tour Guide pg 13
311-319 Parkview DriveRogers-Crosley-Whittet Block These buildings where built in 1916, this three-storefront block is a multi-purpose commercial building. It was owned by 3 people: Walter Rogers who run an ice cream parlor; Dr. George Crosley, a physician; and William White, a builder. The post office and pharmacy were also in the building. 301 Parkview Drive T.I. Place Jewelry Store This house is built in 1875 and was moved to this location in the late 1800s. This build was a jewelry store and sold china and musical instruments from the 1890s to mid 1900s. In 1980s Emmanulle Palazzolo was running a pizza place in the building. He was part of the “Pizza Connection” which was part of a heroin ring of organized crime. This heroin ring was part of a bigger ring in the East Coast and Midwest and Italy. And Sicily. 655 College Street Dr. G.E. Crosley Building This building was built in 1941 as a medical office at the time it was a modern facility. Dr. Crosley who worked here got his medical degree from Chicago and started practicing medicine in Milton in 1909. This is the upgraded medical facilities to better help people. Dr. Crosley passed away in 1955. (Tour Guide pg 15)
649 College Street L.M. Babcock Building This building was built in 1922 for Dr. L.M. Babcock as a dentist office. Dr. L.M. Babock graduated from Chicago College of Dental Surgery in 1904. Babock practiced dentistry until his retirement in 1949. ( Tour Guide pg 15)
645 College Street Like Brothers Implement Building This was built in 1922 has agricultural equipment retailer. This building replaced their old shop and an old blacksmith shop. Parkview Historic District Since 2015 National Register of Historic Places #15000505

644-650 College Street Maxon Crandall Block These buildings where built in 1915 to replace the building after a fire in 1914 burned the original buildings. There was a Meat Market and Hardware Store the Meat Market closed in the 1930s and the Hardware store stayed in business well into the 20th century. 247-251 Parkview Drive Dunn Block This building was built in 1890 as a commercial block. It’s made from cream brick which is common in Wisconsin at this time. Frederick Dunn opened his own clothing store. Parkview Historic District Since 2015 National Register of Historic Places #15000505

201 Parkview Drive Sayre Garage This building was built in 1926 was owned by Walter Sayre who was an owner of Chrysler Plymouth dealership. (Tour Guid pg 17)
117-119 Parkview Drive Dr. W.H. Borden House This house was built in 1860 as a single family house now this house is a duplex. Dr. W.H. Borden who purchased this home in 1872 was Milton’s 1st full time physician and a Civil War surgeon. Inside this house it has Harwood floors, a massive walnut staircase. (Tour Guide pg 17)
20 Parkview Drive Chicago Milwaukee & St. Paul Railroad Depot (Milwaukee Road) Joseph Goodrich was the driving force behind the 1st railroad that came to Milton in 1852. This was the 1st railroad to lay track in Wisconsin and eventually became the Chicago, Milwaukee & St. Paul Railroad know as the Milwaukee Road. Goodrich took a mortgage out on his farm for $3,000 and convinced other farmers to do the same. By 1857, 6,000 property owners mortgaged their homes and farms for almost $5 million on the rail line. This help farmers sending their crops to the market faster then using wagons. That last passenger train came through Milton in 1951. This building was built in 1914 after the original depot burn down in 1913. This building is now used as a Community House. (Tour Guide pg 18)
604-606 East Madison Avenue Polly Goodrich House This house was built in the early 1850’s by Elijah and Polly Goodrich your was the 1st cousin and sister of founder Joseph Goodrich. Polly Goodrich was one of the richest women in town and was known by the town as Aunt Polly (Tour Guide pg 19)
720 East Madison Avenue Seventh Day Baptist Church This building was built in 1933-34 by architect Hugo Hauser of Milwaukee, designed style is Gothic Revival. This current building replace the church that burned down in 1932. This congregation is one of the earliest in the City of Milton going back to the 1830s This building made the National Register of Historic Paces in 2016. (#16000569) (Tour Guide pg 19)
742 East Madison Avenue: Goodrich House This house was built in 1867 for Ezra and Elizabeth Goodrich son of founder. They lived here til 1903 they had 4 children. This house is on the National Register of Historic Places in 2015. #15000435 (Tour Guide pg 20)
2-4 North Janesville Street: Creamery Ezra Goodrich moved this building to this location in 1885. On the 1st floor in house a creamery and and newspaper office called Telephone. In the basement was the living room for the family. On the 2nd floor was a hall capable of seating 400 people. The hall would have traveling performance groups later in became a wooden roller skating rink, and dances were held there too, (Tour Guide pg 20
